You can discover how the ingredients were grown, in what conditions (organic, Fair Trade, Domaine Clarins) - also, how your product was conceived, from the preparation of the formula to the shipping of the product.
This traceability initiative fits perfectly into the Clarins values of transparency that have been at the core of the brand’s success. This traceability is a real guarantee of trust and quality. It also allows you to ensure that each plant is responsibly sourced, reinforcing our commitment to more sustainable beauty.
Are all Clarins products traced?
Yes, all Clarins products and each of their ingredients are traced and strictly controlled. But not all of them are yet accessible sur Clarins T.R.U.S.T. : referencing all of our products takes a little time, which is why some products may not yet be available on the interface to date.
How do I access my product's traceability information?
By entering the batch number of your product which is printed on the product and its outerbox. It is usually 7 characters long.

Why is some information about plants not visible?
We are currently working to complete the traceability process for each plant. It is possible that missing or incomplete data may not be displayed. In the meantime, you can find more information about our herbarium on our website.
Why do some plants appear multiple times?
We sometimes favor multi-sourcing of the plants in our herbarium in order to cope with climatic hazards that can impact the quantities harvested. In this case, the country of origin may differ to ensure consistent availability of ingredients. In addition, an ingredient can be produced from multiple batch numbers of the same plant. Each batch number is a unique identifier that allows the journey of the ingredient to be traced, ensuring full traceability.
The information accessible in Clarins T.R.U.S.T. provides you with total transparency on the quality and origin of the raw materials used.

Manufacturing and product safety
What does the date of manufacture mean on Clarins T.R.U.S.T.?
The date of manufacture corresponds to the so-called "packaging" phase, i.e. the moment when the product is filled and its packaging sealed.
How long can I use my product?
At Clarins, the shelf life of products is guaranteed for 36 months before opening from manufacture, unless otherwise stated on the packaging and provided that they are stored under appropriate conditions.
Once opened, our products can then be used for 6 to 12 months depending on the PAO* indicated on the packaging.
For some make-up products, the shelf life can be up to 60 months (e.g. powders, lipsticks)
*Period After Opening, represented by a small open jar accompanied by a number
