Marsh samphire is endemic to North America, Europe, South Africa and South Asia. Found on every shoreline in Europe, marsh samphire thrives in hostile coastal conditions. It is not an alga but a halophilic plant. In fact, so strong is its ability to adapt to salt, it can be immersed in seawater during high tides. During this process, it becomes saturated with freshwater and maintains its hydration through complex cellular mechanisms mobilizing multiple minerals. Marsh samphire also produces an oil perfectly suited to skin care. Its ability to hold water ensures an optimal, long-lasting hydrating action.

Marsh samphire is endemic to Argentina, France and Portugal. The supply channel: the plant is abundant and unendangered on the production site. It is ‘semi-cultivated’ which indicates similar growing conditions to those of a wild plant: natural growth free of inputs. In addition, the plant is certified-organic which requires the strict management of resources: determination of harvesting plots, a limited collection period, rotation of harvesting sites, traceability, etc.
