Our extract supplier-partner works to make use of fruit that has been rejected during sorting. These "imperfect" fruits are discarded by the food industry, but are used to produce avocado peptides. Clarins and its partner are developing a circular and sustainable economy for the manufacture of avocado peptides. This partner prioritises sourcing avocados from remote and difficult-to-reach valleys on the Pacific coast and in the foothills of the Andes and Amazon. This initiative helps to boost the local economy, for example by giving small producers access to the banking system, thereby limiting the transit of large sums of cash, and by reducing the exodus of local populations (through job creation).
